I have been working with clay for nearly three decades, and teaching ceramics has been an important part of my life for much of that time. What continues to draw me to clay is the opportunity to slow down, pay attention, and connect with the material through the process of making.
My approach to teaching is rooted in curiosity, exploration, and finding your own relationship with clay. I enjoy helping students develop their skills while encouraging them to discover their own ideas and ways of working.
For me, the transformations that happen as clay moves through our hands and ultimately through the fire reflect the transformations that take place throughout our lives. Every piece carries something of that process into the world.
